MRGS Sursum and Papatoetoe Nayagar met in the A Division final

2 Oct 2023 – Mt Roskill Grammar's MRGS Sursum claimed the major honours on the last evening of the 2023 Auckland Secondary Schools Curling Championships. Their 4-2 victory over Papatoetoe High School's Team Nayagar 4-2 earned them the A-Division title in the 18-week competition, held over the winter terms.

With their win Team Sursum also secured the Matthews Cup Open competition, while Team Nayagar won the Mixed Team Trophy.

Lynfield College White took home the Girls' Trophy, and Papatotoe's Team Chahal claimed a second trophy for their school when they won the Boy's competition. The Novice Shield for first-year players went to Mt Albert Grammar's Rolling Stones.

The Spirit of Curling Awards, voted by the athletes for those they felt best demonstrated sportsmanship and fair play, were won by Massey High School's Sophie Norman, and Hugh Skinner from Mt Albert Grammar.
