Online registrations for the North Island Secondary Schools Curling Cup (NISSCC) are now OPEN. Registrations will close on Friday 1st August 2025. The draw will go live on Monday 11th August 2025.

Playing System, Rules & Regulations


Playing System

​​​​​​​The following playing system is subject to the number of teams registered for 2025. 

Round Robin

Three pools of three teams play a single round robin on Tuesday 26th August 2025.

After each Round Robin game, each team will throw one Last Stone Draw, with a rotation of their choosing. The Last Stone Draw must be thrown by a different person each game. 

At the conclusion of the Round Robin, teams are ranked by their W-L record, followed by their Last Stone Draw average. 

Playoffs

The top two teams from the Round Robin advance to Draw 5. 

Third ranked after the Round Robin plays sixth ranked; fourth ranked plays 5th ranked. Higher seed team gets the choice of hammer or colour. 

The seventh, eighth and ninth ranked team after the Round Robin plays in a Consolation Round Robin. They will toss a coin for hammer. The first named team plays with dark stones. 

Games must have a winner. If no new end can begin, the Last Stone Draw will determine the winner.
